Birthday party!
Yesterday I celebrated my birthday (which is actually tomorrow 27th but I have classes at evening) at Cafe Pacifico, a really cool Mexican restaurant in Sydney. It was one of the best birthday parties I’ve even had even when I’m so far from Mexico. With me were Kim, Alex, Catherine, Heidi, my brother, Tony, James, Rodnei, Octavio and Brendan, and we spent such a great time.
Catherine gave me the book of Starship Troopers!! Great that she searched into my Amazon wishlist, also I got a really nice card from Kim (there are some elements no so nice on it but is OK, that information is actually classified) and I got for myself the Tropfest DVD
Vicepresident son of a…
Today I was going with my brother to Bondi beach when suddenly the bus stopped on the entrance to the Harbour Bridge. That was unusual considering it was Saturday noon, we waited for almost 30 minutes until we saw a caravan of police cars, helicopters, ambulances, and those anti-bombs vehicles escorting a black limo with a flag of the US.
My brother just pointed out that Dick Cheney is in Australia, and I just read that the Harbour Bridge was closed because Mr. Vicepresident was on his way to take a beer with his mate Johnny Howard. Bastard!! What is he so afraid of? Oh I see, he knows what he has done, that’s why he’s afraid of everybody. Paranoid bastard!!
My brother is in town!
My brother just arrived yesterday from Mexico! I went to pick him up to the airport and I had to wait more than an hour because there were too many people arriving to Sydney to board the Queen Mary 2. In my way to the city I saw the QM2 at Clark Island, because it was too big to dock at Circular Quay, is too high that it wouldn’t pass below the Harbour Bridge (what such a big ship).
I just show him the surroundings of North Ryde (which are essentially the shopping centre and the Uni) and today we’ll start properly in the city. I think I’m becoming a good tourist guide
Tropfest 2007
Yesterday I went to the Tropfest, there were a lot of people. It was a nice night, 16 short films (7 minutes maximum length), some goods, some maybe too high for my intellect (really, I didn’t get a couple of them), but certainly interesting ways of making films. The winner was Imaginary, an extraordinary short film about what happens to imaginary friends after children grow up. Especially cool is the fact that the film was made with Flash 8. I liked that a lot along with The Von (which won third place). Don’t forget to buy the Sydney Morning Herald next Saturday to get the free DVD with the films.
Happy Valentine’s Day
Yesterday was Valentine’s Day (remember I live in GMT+11), and I spent a great time with Kim and Rodnei at The Oaks. For the rest of you who are still in GMT+6 or something, Happy Valentine’s Day!
I Wiki
Catherine just posted that my picture with the Google shirt is on French Wikipedia, and I swear I didn’t add it (I don’t even speak French).
Check out the J’ai de la chance (I’m feeling lucky) article. Maybe that’s the beginning of my modeling career in Paris?
Chinese New Year
Last Sunday was the parade in the city for the Chinese New Year, the year of the pig. I’m not sure when the New Year is exactly in the lunar calendar but it’s something around these dates. All the pictures in the Chinese New Year 2007 album. And some interesting pictures below. After that I went with Jules and her Slovakian friends Roman and Misela (funny siblings!) to the Fish Market and then to show the city to Roman.
