Merry Christmas!

Posted under Personal

It is already Christmas in Australia, less than two hours to go in Europe and like nine hours to midnight in here. Yeah, is confusing with all those time zones, anyway Merry Christmas everybody!

…when I left you I was but the learner, now I am the master.

It’s all official, I got a Distinction in my project, I passed the last component of the Master of IT at Macquarie Uni, so I got my degree!!! Ha!, it wasn’t as difficult as you might think.

San Francisco

Posted under Trips

If you haven’t noticed it yet, I uploaded some pictures of San Francisco in flickr. I spent three days in the city so I had to plan in advance where to go every day. Fortunately it worked, I used the City Pass which a great deal, for 54 American dollars you get unlimited access to the municipal public transport and seven attractions including the Museum of Modern Art. That museum is a kick ass museum, even if you’re not in the modern art stuff the museum is awesome! You can even see original Picasso’s and Andy Warhol’s.

So in three days I visited the Museum of Modern Art, Yerba Buena Gardens, Union Square, Bloomingdales (and I didn’t buy anything, hehe), the Golden Gate (impressive bridge), Chinatown, Little Italy, Coit Tower, Lombard Street (on top of Russian Hill, that’s exercise), Embarcadero, Fisherman’s Wharf, Ghirardelli (uhmmm.. chocolate), Presidio, Marina, the Museum of Asian Art, the Aquarium of the Bay (Sydney’s aquarium is better), Exploratorium, the Palace of Fine Arts, Civic Centre and rode on the cable cars. Oh yeah I took a small cruise around Alcatraz and the Golden Gate. I missed Mission, Castro and the Legion of Honour, but maybe next time.
The architecture of the city is great, a mixture of modern and Victorian buildings. Maybe San Fran is not as safe as Sydney but certainly is not Chicago. Unfortunately too many homeless people, really too many, everywhere, almost like sea gulls in Sydney. And I really liked this picture of the Golden Gate in the afternoon:
