A couple of weeks ago I started a class called Accent Reduction at the Macquarie Community College (nothing to do with Macquarie Uni). The class is essentially about the Australian accent. No, I won’t end up speaking like Steve Irwin, but the aim is to try to mimic little by little the Aussie pronunciation, which is weird at times but cool. Let’s see how it goes, now I need to put a lot of attention to the schwas.
