Chronicles of Australia,
PersonalBye-bye Australia (at least for now), I’m heading to Dallas, then Houston, the Villahermosa then Singapore for work. It was such a good journey in here, I met incredible people and the future seems exciting. I’ll miss everybody in Australia!! And like the dolphins said: “So long, and thanks for all the fish!”

Chronicles of AustraliaI woke up today, opened the window and saw a Total-Recall-like Sydney, things are orange and dusty. There’s a massive sandstorm covering large parts of New South Wales at the moment. Apparently Sydneysiders have no experience with the health problems of suspended particles because I saw pictures of people surfing and exercising! If there were an IMECA count in Sydney, I guess we’ll be above 150. Below a picture of the sun, and this is how the sun looks like in Mars.

Chronicles of Australia,
PersonalIf you check my Flickr, you’ll see more pictures of Canberra. I had to come back last Friday, to request a new passport in the Mexican embassy. To kill some time before my appointment I went to Old Parliament House. Now it’s a museum, quite awesome, I had the chance to sit on the cabinet’s chair and discuss with my fellow tourists ministers the issue of the “boat people” in the 70’s.
The Mexican embassy is a funny place. There are no security guards at all, they made me wait for around an hour. Besides, now it happens that the passports no longer take 1 working day like in Mexico, but 6 to 8 weeks. Oh well, at least I spent a good day in the capital.

Chronicles of Australia,
TripsThere you go, your loyalty to this blog pays back, today was a double-post day.
Yesterday I came back from Queensland. I visited Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast and even I managed to visit the Glasshouse mountains and Moreton Island. Later stories and pictures.

Chronicles of AustraliaToday finally I heard what many people waited for years, the train line from Chatswood to Epping passing by Macquarie Uni was working. Unfortunately I don’t go to Uni anymore, but now I have an extra option to go home, which is surprinsingly quite fast and convenient. Catherine took good pictures of the station. I just wish all the stations were so modern and shiny like those new ones. I’m to show you later pictures of Town Hall station at 6pm: it’s as crowded as any Mexico City metro station, it just looks older.

Chronicles of AustraliaI’m really considering suing Tourism Australia. When I came to this country I had the idea that Sydney was all beaches, surf boards and sexy girls in tiny swimsuit. Not the freaky rainy days we’ve been having lately, or the suffocating heat of a couple of weeks ago. Therefore, Tourism Australia, I want my money back, I think your website is misleading and full of fake assumptions which are loosely related with reality. In my town we call this fraud

Chronicles of AustraliaBy now the news about the massive bushfires in Victoria are around the world. For those who’ve been asking if I’m fine, well yes I am, actually Victoria is quite far from here. However, it has being a very sad day for Australia, many unfortunate deaths. Even when I’m not Australian I feel very sorry for all of them.
