IT Channel,
PersonalApparently 2.69 kg, which is the weight of my new Toshiba A300! Actually I bought a A200 but there were two dead pixels!I was very unhappy and the bloody Toshiba says that no less than five pixels are necessary to enact the warranty. Fortunately the guys of OfficeWorks accepted to exchange it without hassles. The only problem is that it was an offer and there were no more in stock. So I ended up buying the newest model. Welcome to the family Toshiba.

IT ChannelTomorrow 17th of June is the Firefox 3 download day. We’ll try to establish the world record of the software most downloaded in 24 hours. Don’t forget to go to www.firefox.com and get your free copy. Although I don’t know at what time zone does the 24 hours start, I hope GMT+10

IT ChannelI installed Windows Vista (courtesy of Microsot and Macquarie University) in my Asus A6J, it looks pretty sleek I liked the Aero interface, but half of my computer was unsupported: no camera, no sound, no card reader, no printer, and some troubles with the wireless. So after some hours trying to fix it, almost begging for drivers in underground internet forums I simply decided to switch back to XP. Actually Vista was slower, I hope they fix all that with the Service Pack 1.
I mostly use Ubuntu anyway.

Chronicles of Australia,
IT Channel,
TripsJust a few minutes before I leave to the airport and I was checking in Google maps my accommodation in San Francisco, and I found incredibly handy the street views. I could virtually walk from Union Square to Post Street and now I have an idea how to get there from the train station, so probably I’ll catch only the train since is a short stroll.
OK this blogger has a trip to complete, see you on the other side of the ocean.

IT ChannelAnd passing to the good news, I finished my project the last component of the master’s degree. Indeed, a couple of day is advance, you know me. I like giving interesting names to my programs and databases, I’m not very fond of acronyms, so I named this one Bunyip. While developing the name was Wami and the sources and the database are still named like that, but I think Bunyip is far cooler. My presentation is this Friday 8:25pm, E6A building, and anyone can attend. Here some screenshots:
